What we love about the web is the opportunity to share our thoughts with others. But we also like to hear what others think and exchange ideas.

On this page, we'll share some of the comments we've received in our guestbook and via e-mail. Where appropriate, we'll include a link to the original log entry or essay that inspired the comment. In some cases, we may also respond to the comments.

As you are aware, we have been offering a 50% discount off our rental rates to members during the last couple of years. This benefit had been well received by those who were back in Singapore for holidays or business.

At the beginning of this month, we have added several units of new 1600cc automatic cars into our fleet. For this category of cars, the rental rates are based on the Standard Valued Pack tariff. You will however, still get to enjoy the 50% discount.

Kindly email us - sintat@mbox3.singnet.com.sg for your enquiries and reservations.

A New Driving Licence ?

1.Police will be replacing the paper driving licence which has been in existence since 1969 with a new credit card sized photocard. All new drivers and those whose licences are due for renewal will be the first to receive the new photocard upon implementation.

2. During the transition period, the new photocard driving licences will be phased in as the current paper licences expire. Paper licence holders will be scheduled for the replacement based on the expiry of their paper licences.

3. The current paper licence has several deficiencies. It is easily torn and damaged, its unconventional size makes it inconvenient to carry and there is no visual identification to show that the holder is the actual licensee.

4. Upon careful deliberation, the option of having a photocard driving licence was found to be the most feasible.

5. The new driving licence will be a more durable credit card sized photocard with security features, both visual and hidden, to prevent tampering and forgery. It would include relevant information and a colour photograph of the licence holder.

6. Police has proposed for a one-off fee for a lifetime driving licence, however subject to approval by Ministry of Finance. There will thus be no need to renew the photocard driving licence on a regular basis, if approved, it will be issued for life. No expiry date will be printed on the photocards for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents. Drivers only need to replace them upon damage or loss.

7. The practice of requiring drivers who are disqualified, suspended or have had their licences revoked to surrender their licences to the Court or Traffic Police will continue.

8. The fee structure for the new photocard is currently under review by Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Finance.

9. 6 weeks before the expiry of the paper licences, a pre-printed application form for the new photocard will be sent to the drivers. Drivers are to submit the forms together with a recent NRIC sized colour photo, make payment and name their particulars and photographs verified at any of the 63 Post offices. Thereafter, applications will processed and the new photocard will be sent to applicants by registered post.

10. For new driving licence holders, they will receive their application forms at the Test Centres upon passing their practical tests. They will pay the appropriate fee and have their photographs verified. Their photocards will also be sent to them by registered post.
